Mayor Andy Houghton called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

SPECIAL TRAINING WORKSHOP:

AB 1234 - ETHICS TRAINING

Rick Crabtree, City Attorney, provided handouts and presented a power point presentation on Ethics. As part of AB 1234 all elected officials are required to attend two (2) hours of Ethics training prior to January 1, 2007 and every two years thereafter. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize everyone with the laws that govern public service and to satisfy the requirements of Article 2.4 of Chapter 2 of Par 1 of Title 5 of the Government Code. The law only sets a minimum standard for ethical conduct, and that just because an action is legal doesn’t mean that it is ethical.

At 11:00 A.M. Mayor Houghton adjourned the meeting to July 18, 2006 at 7:00 P.M., in the Red Bluff City Council Chambers.
